*** Zoo Lights ***
Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City expanded the annual Zoo Lights to include more displays than it ever has. We decided to take Benjamin and meet Venus and Eva Marie to look at the lights. Unfortunately, Jorge had to study for exams so he wasn’t able to join us.
The lights depicted all sorts of scenes, from birds flapping their wings to monkeys climbing in the trees. The colors were spectacular and I especially liked how the bronze statutes would reflect them.
The night was exceptionally cold, with a stiff wind coming out of Emigration Canyon. We started out by going inside the gift shop to bundle Benjamin up with warmer clothes. He didn’t mind and looked like a little astronaut.
I watched the strollers while kids and moms rode the marry-go-round. The lights and carnival atmosphere made the night magical, especially for all the kids who were high on cotton candy and hot chocolate.
Although it was cold, the kids had fun, parents visited and we were warmed with friendship.
