...well, not THAT famous. Observing all of the art around the festival inspired me. This is a picture that I took of the reflecting pool next to the library. I rotated it a bit, overloaded it with blue and yellow in the highlights, then adjusted the contrast to make it "pop" and then over-saturated it. We just love Photoshop!
This is Library Square on 4th South. This plaza is a very popular place of all sorts of events. The Salt Lake Jazz Festival will be occuring here in a couple of weeks. Other events include Pride Day...yes, there are gay people in Utah and they have their own celebration. Needless to say, it is always an interesting event to witness.
At a booth next to the Coffee Garden, Holly picked up a free temporary tattoo that was given away by Rocky Mountain Power. She was excited to have a tattoo to show.
Another picture of the reflecting pool and glass that covers the south side of the Library. We simply love this place because it is always inviting and great for pictures.
This is a coffee garden set up for the Arts Festival. Interestingly, this is a place that Vero will frequent on her way to work. I'll see charges on the statement for them...and she didn't think I knew about her habit! Incidently, a band later set up to play live music here...yet another music venue.
You see the blue tent on the right? This is where we normally park when we go to the library. It's always interesting to see how public spaces can be transformed during festivals. I remember last winter, having to trudge through several inches of snow and being careful to not slip on the ice that covered this driveway. Utah is a contrasty place.
I thought the reflection of all these folks sitting along the wall of the reflecting pool was interesting. I guess this would be an appropriate place for...
