*** Sunday Brunch ***

On occasion, we will join together with friends for Sunday Brunch. As it is in the Latino culture, family centered events are a big deal. To spend time together visiting, talking about everything and mostly laughter is what this is mainly about…food is secondary. It comes down to loving those closest to you, including Pesky, the Chihuahua. Spanish was wildly flying around!

It is said that too many cooks spoil the stew...

...however, in this instance, having several cooks helped to prepare a wonderful brunch.

As it is our custom, we allow Benjamin to bring a toy to play with. This garbage truck, which his Uncle bought for him, is one of his all-time favorites. Whenever he sees a real garbage truck, they’re usually the same style and at times, even green, he is so excited when he sees them.

The little trash can is a miniature of the garbage cans we drag out to the curb once a week. Benjamin loves to see the truck come by and collect the garbage. The truck has an automatic arm that will grab the can and hoist it up to dump it. The driver of the garbage truck became accustomed to seeing Benjamin and Mom standing outside when the truck would come by. One day, she stopped, rolled down the window and gave this to Benjamin. He was so thrilled to have it, now he always plays with them together, imitating life complete with the truck sounds as he dumps the can.

Since I was in the mood of taking pictures of Benjamin’s stuff, he wanted me to include one of his lion cup.

With the kids growing restless, it was apparent they needed to burn off some energy. We decided to take them on a walk around the neighborhood. It was a bit nippy, but the running around served its purpose.

Benjamin decided to take advantage of the tree-lined street. He would run ahead, hide behind it, then jump out and say “Boo!” to the unsuspecting pedestrian.

Ah, his next victim!

"Drats, they’re on to me!"

While we were walking, we found the remains of a turn signal lens. Of course, I had to use it as a creative way to take a picture of Benjamin.

After we returned to the house, the kids still wanted to play. Paul was volunteered to play horse.

Emma decided that it was time to give dad a good tickle.

Brunch is served!

Our other dear friend Brandy showed up to enjoy the time with us. Unfortunately, I became so involved with the conversation that I forgot to snap a picture. Brandy is always a welcome treat to us and is one of Benjamin’s favorites.

It suddenly became quiet as everyone indulged. Afterwards, bellies were full and happy kids wanted to settle down...it was movie time.

Jorge noticed a Kodak moment and snapped these pictures of his lovely ladies, enjoying the nice end to our Sunday Brunch.

To Gabby; “Muchas Gracias!”  for such a great time at her home.
